have a look at this....ok the music may not be to your taste, but this took me right back to the early 60s when I scrimped and saved for my first snare drum ( it was a12 x 4" cream and red number with real calf heads, and had a little cymbal clamp on the side with a really cheesy splash cymbal)...this man was a HUGE influence - his very clean, crisp style(trad grip at all times)was a joy to watch and listen to. Along with Bobby Elliott(The Hollies) Pete York ( Spencer Davis Group)and Mick Avory(Kinks) he seemed to be one of a group of thinking, schooled drummers who provided a balanced counterpoint to the groovers, like the one and only Richard Starkey. They were all influences which went into the mix of inspiration that formed the drummer that I am today...old and knackered but with a love of drums and music that's undimmed by the passing of (many) years.
